Whiskey In The Jar
Running back
Vagabonds, Kings, Warriors, Angels boxset.
High to low! Searchin’ right to left! “Jailbreak”
I gotta go with Chinatown on this one, the LP and the song as it was the first Thin Lizzy record I ever bought – I was 12 years old. Still have it. Love the cover.
I’d have to say “Dublin” is a pretty fine song. Relaxing, soothing quiet lullaby:)
I would have to go with Emerald as my favorite track. Live and Dangerous is amazing, but Vagabonds is my current favorite studio album.
Favorite TL song is “Waiting on an Alibi” from Black Rose
The guitar work in cowboy song is the truth
I’m no scholar, but “Don’t Believe a Word” shreds pretty hard.
“The Cowboy Song” when the guitar part comes back after Phil takes it down low. That is the pinnacle of Lizzness..classic
Oh god, everyone is saying it, but “Cowboy Song” tops it. More specifically, the moment when the guitar and bass start their duet as the song begins to rev up – that tops everything.
“Dancing in the Moonlight” because of Phil Lynott’s incredible talent in crafting depth of character in his lyrics as evidenced by this depiction of innocence and rebellious teen love — all in one succinct verse:
“I should have taken that last bus home, but I asked you for a dance
Now we go steady to the movies, I always get chocolate stains on my pants
And my father, he’s going crazy, says I’m living in a trance”
I’ve always been partial to “The Rocker”
Whisky in the jar

My favorite song would either be their cover of Bob Seger’s Rosalie and Bad Reputation.

I guess I’m not like all the others.I love “Return of the Framer’s Son” and “Saga of the Ageing Orphan”. For some reason this album makes me think of U2 as very young men writing and performing . Go figure.
