Dig it! Light In The Attic and Tompkins Square have teamed up to bring legendary folk-rock guitar god Michael Chapman to the states for a rare US tour. With our recent reissue of Chapman’s psych-folk masterpiece Fully Qualified Survivor and Tompkins Square’s essential career-spanning anthology Trainsong, everyone’s been asking how and when they can see the man live. Well here’s your chance! Fans of Bill Callahan (Smog), Steve Gunn, Hans Chew, Tom Carter, and Meg Baird, see below…time to get very excited.
With our recent reissue of his landmark Fully Qualified Survivor album and Tompkin Square’s career-spanning anthology, Trainsong–both getting some love from Pitchfork with a review of the two albums and a feature–there’s never been a better time to catch the legendary British guitarist/singer-songwriter Michael Chapman. Lucky for you he’s been touring the states for the last month and he’s sticking around for some more great shows (including NEW dates!). Check out the dates and some fan videos after the jump.

It’s the final night of the Chapman leg of the tour, so show some love!
Just last week the road warrior Michael Chapman wrapped up his North America tour. The good word from the man himself is he’s already hitting the road in Europe…an inspiration indeed. We had the supreme pleasure of putting Michael up while he was in Los Angeles for his first show on the Bill Callahan leg of the tour. What a time we had. We showed him around town, including stops at Amoeba in Hollywood, Reuben Cox’s Old Style Guitar Shop in Silverlake, and a great meet up with Fully Qualified Survivor arranger Paul Buckmaster. Here’s a few photos (and a video) of the day. See ya out there next time…

Michael and Paul. First time they've seen each other in 20 years!
Had to grab some autographs! Paul signs away
Chapman obliged us too with his autograph. Kinda hard to sign on the glossy sleeve, though
