Jim Ford “Harlan County” out next week – Plus Rotter and Friends tee!

Thought about holding off on this, but we couldn’t wait to share this awesome news. The gospel truth is we’re just rootin’ tootin’ excited about the release of Jim Ford’s Harlan County on Tuesday, July 26th. And to make this release even more special, check out this little nugget:

That’s right, to celebrate the release of Harlan County we’re collaborating again on a tee with the eternally wise Rotter and Friends. You probably saw and hopefully snagged the Jim Sullivan tee (among their other sick designs). We’re expecting these shirts (offered in two colorways) to be available in early August via LITA-LTD and Rotter and Friends, so keep an eye out! We’ll also be offering some deals when you buy the shirt and LP or CD together. Get ready!

It took a little while to get this out but we had to do right by Mr. Ford. Our second collaboration with Rotter and Friends, this rad design by Jess Rotter just about sums up Jim Ford and has some clever references to his (recently reissued by LITA) album Harlan County. How many can you find???

LITA-LTD: Serge Gainsbourg “Histoire de Melody Nelson” Tees NOW AVAILABLE

We gave you sneak peak at our sweet new “Melody Nelson” shirts in last week’s Free Basin’ Fridays but now you can head on over to LITA-LTD to pick your’s up. For the uninitiated, LITA-LTD is our limited edition line of shirts, posters, test pressings (coming soon) and various ephemera.

And what of this shirt?? To celebrate Serge Gainsbourg’s Histoire de Melody Nelson (LITA 040), we asked artist Drew Christie to channel the classic cover art through his vision and voilà: the Light In The Attic “Melody Nelson” tee. The first pressing of this shirt quickly sold out and was only available at the Serge Gainsbourg tribute show at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles (Summer 2011). We decided to press it up again and offer it for sale on LITA-LTD for the first time. And like everything we do at LITA, these are quality all the way: Six color art screened by hand on super soft American Apparel unisex shirts (S, M, L, XL available). Grab one now before they’re gone, gone, gone.

Free Basin’ Fridays – Lee Hazlewood: The Man, The Myth, THE TEE!

Seriously, y’all…the hits just keep coming! Celebrating our Record Store Day release (out TOMORROW!), Lee Hazlewood – The LHI Years: Singles, Nudes, & Backsides (1968-71), we teamed up with our buds-in-arms Rotter and Friends to bring to you this truly awesome shirt designed/illustrated by Jess Rotter. Let’s see, how might we describe this…a stoic-faced Hazlewood visage with ever present cigarette looks off in the distance as his cast of dames contort their bodies to spell out his name?!? Yes! Pick one or both up here and scope the awesome photos by David Black below.
