Big Weekend with Big Star!

Heads up to all you Big Star fans. This Saturday night in NYC there’ll be a tribute concert for Big Star’s iconic final album Third/Sister Lovers. Yours truly, (Light In The Attic’s Patrick McCarthy) will be in town to capture the whole thing for the upcoming documentary film Nothing Can Hurt Me: The Big Star Story, which I’ve been working on with my sister Danielle McCarthy and Drew DeNicola for almost a decade now!

If you’re in NYC, then get out to the show! A short list of the performers includes Michael Stipe and Mike Mills (R.E.M.), Matthew Sweet, Jody Stephens (Big Star), Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub), Mitch Easter (Let’s Active), Ira Kaplan (Yo La Tengo), Tift Merritt and the dBs’ Will Rigby and Chris Stamey.

BUT, if you can’t make it out, then make sure to follow the Light In The Attic Twitter feed for updates and photos live from the performance.
