Long before his solo debut, Trouble Is A Lonesome Town (which he recorded at the tender age of 34), Lee Hazlewood graduated from broadcasting school in Hollywood and got his first gig as a disc jockey out in Coolidge, Arizona. That’s where he met Duane Eddy, through a mutual friend at the local radio station. The two went on to write and record a string of hit records before Lee decided to go off on his own.
Check out Duane Eddy telling the tale of how he first met Lee!
And here’s one of our favorite Lee and Duane collaborations, “The Girl On Death Row” – Lee Hazlewood singing backed by Duane Eddy & His Orchestra. You can find this track and more on our reissue of Trouble Is A Lonesome Town, available now on CD, LP, and MP3 at LightInTheAttic.net!
