Regardless of the fact that the heavens are pissing down on us, it’s HALLOWEEN, the drunkenest, most skin-exposed, most sugar-coated, devil-loving holiday of ALL! And, we’re sure our uber-cool readers have a whole steaming plate of good times already scheduled, but we just want to make sure that you Seattle folks knew about some of the bigger, greater, better things going on in this drizzly domain of ours tonight:
1. THE SONICS AT THE PARAMOUNT
Oh how we wish that our beloved, and deceased Seattle Supersonics we’re surprise return from the barren corn-fields of Oklahoma to drain a few threes, pull some nasty crossovers, and remind us that the NBA isn’t a power hungry corporation only in it for the money. But, that’s not going to happen, and the reunion of Seattle early-punk pioneers The Sonics is reason enough to celebrate. After nearly 30 years these absolute Seattle-legends are reuniting to knock your lily-white pants off! C’mon these guys palled around with The Kingsmen and The Wailers waaaaay back in the day and now you’re going to get the chance to see them in all their glory. This is going to be fantastic and you will be punching yourself in the face tomorrow if you miss it.
2. BLACK DAISY AT THE HI-DIVE
Perhaps you’re looking for some comedy tonight in lieu of your sexy cowboy outfit’s assless chaps not working out due to the weather. Or maybe you’re just down because you ate an entire Halloween-size bag of Mint Patties and your stomach is all sicky-wicky and your brain is spiraling from sugar overdose. Nonetheless, you need to get out to The Hi-Dive tonight to see comedic, well, trio Black Daisy open up for Partman Parthorse as a, er, part of his CD release party. These are some hilarious sons of bitches, and you’ll be sipping of the bleach early tomorrow morning if you miss out.
And finally, for you lucky LA beeyatches:
3. THE BLACK ANGELS/ROKY ERICKSON AT EL REY IN LOS ANGELES!
For the love of pumpkins and ghosts, this show will blow your mind. Don’t even think about anything else if you’re currently in Los Angeles, forgo your plans of drinking with celebrities, and get out and see one of the more radical shows you’ll ever be privy too. I’m not kidding.
As always, have a few drinks, keep it safe, and of course HAPPY HALLOWEEN from everyone at LIGHT IN THE ATTIC!
