RODRIGUEZ AT THE PARK BAR, DETROIT, TOMORROW!

Let us just say, we’d rather be somewhere else besides Seattle right now.  The gloom is settling in for the fall/winter/spring, Betty Davis is getting tributed by a select group of sick beat constructers in DC and then this:

Rodriguez, he of the newly classic Cold Fact reissue, will be performing in Detroit, TOMORROW (that’s Saturday), at The Park Bar.  The man, the plan, Rodriguez, performing his sweet styles of anti-establishment late-60s psych-folk, in his hometown, to a crowd of locals for the first time in 35 YEARS.  As bowel-shaking as this is, what’s even more exciting is that Mr. Rodriguez will be backed by a selection of Detroit garage-rock legends including:

* Jim Diamond – bass (Dirtbombs, White Stripes)
* Matthew Smith – guitar (The Go, Outrageous Cherry, Volebeats)
* Bobby Emmett – organ (The Sights)
* Dave Shettler – drums (SSM, The Sights)

If we could somehow pray to the magic fairies of budgetary concerns to drop a fat wad of cash for day-of airfare, through the skylight of 200-room palatial mansion, we would, but alas, we’re not a very religious group.

Thus, we’ll leave the rabble-rousing and cheering to the good folk of Detroit, we know you’re up to it.

Deets after the jump.
