If you’ve had a chance to dig in to our newest reissue, Rodriguez’s Cold Fact, you’re probably going to be absolutely baffled when we drop this little bomb shell on you:
Rodriguez has never played in New York before, ever … UNTIL NOW!
Yup, the man, the plan, the anti-establishment poet that is one Sixto Rodriguez will be making his Nuevo York debut at Joe’s Pub in Astor Place next Wednesday, September 3rd. This isn’t just any New York-debut performance, this is an intimate 150 person club where you’ll be seeing one of the great, lost performers of our time, playing tracks of one of the great timeless masterpieces of the late-60s.
We implore you (we do a lot of imploring around here) to be there, September 3rd. If you can’t get a ticket, buy a hi-tech listening device and have it installed beneath the stage prior to the show. Then set up a flower-truck with an even more hi-tech listening station, manned by a trio of well-trained sound experts, and sit back, and enjoy. Really, it’s worth that much.
