We’d recommend this film for two bold reasons:
1. It features a Black Angel’s song, a band we dearly love.
2. It’s about two of the great cinematographers of all time: Lazlo Kovacs and Vilmos Zsigmond. Between the two they created the visual aesthetics for films like Easy Rider, The Deer Hunter, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Deliverance, Paper Moon, and so much more. Not-An-Intern Noah would kill all of us in painful ways if we didn’t at least mention this film.
It’s playing tonight on Independent Lens at 10PM. That’s PBS folks. Public broadcasting.
Matt Sullivan personally recommends. No really, he told me he did.
