The week is over, but our love of Wheedle’s Groove burns like an everlasting flame, on and on and on and on.
Thus we couldn’t be more excited to present to you the very first peak of Jennifer Maas’ documentary about the Seattle soul-funk scene of the late ’60s / early ’70s. If you’re excited about Wheedle’s and you certainly should be, or if you’re just slightly curious, then this documentary is going to blow you out of the water. Even if you’ve never heard of Wheedle’s Groove, this is a beautifully put together documentary featuring interviews with Quincy Jones, as well as an incredible assortment of the local legends that made this documentary possible.
Here’s a sneak peak of the film featuring Pastor Patrinell Staten Wright stepping in to the studio to record her cover of Soundgarden’s “Jesus Christ Pose”. Be on the lookout for Josh Wright’s gleaming mug.
Check back soon for news about when the film will premiere on the big screen in your neck of the woods.
